Booties
In the fall of 2013, The Twenty-Five Club began selling silver baby shoes, or “booties” to raise monies for the NICU. Debbie Barbarita and Kathleen Hess, with the support of Maribeth McLaughlin, Chief Nursing Officer of Magee-Womens; researched and selected the design. The bottom of the shoe is silk-screened with Magee-Womens Hospital of UPMC. A small charm attached to the shoe could be engraved with a date or a name by the buyer. The bootie was sold for $20 with a profit of $10.25. Susan Zitelli, Susan Fitzsimmons, Debbie Barbarita and Kathleen Hess covered the design cost for the bootie. They were sold several times in the lobby of Magee by many members of The Twenty-Five Club. Additionally, they were sold at other fundraising events and given as a gift to attendees of our 75th anniversary celebration.
