2008: Major Milestone Reached in Fundraising for Newborn Medicine

2008: Major Milestone reached in Fundraising for Newborn Medicine

Infant Research Laboratory financed by The 25 Club in 1957

A major milestone was accomplished in July 2008. Under the guidance of our then President, Carol Massaro, The Twenty-Five Club established the Twenty-Five Club Endowed Chair in Newborn Medicine.

This $2,000,000 chair was achieved with a $1,000,000 donation by the Club, along with matching funds of $1,000,000 by Magee-Womens Hospital.  A fund raising event that year “Please Take A Seat” helped to make this a reality.

Two monumental undertakings: The Sale in the Park and The 25 Club’s Gallery and Estate Auction.

The Sale in the Park made a modest Profit of $2,500 in the year 1977 and would grow to annual sales of more than $900,000 by October 1992.

The Twenty-Five Club’s Gallery and Estate Auction was an event conducted by C.B. Charles’ Galleries. This auction was made possible through member Ann Kerr, who traveled the world purchasing items for the auction with the proceeds benefiting The Twenty-Five Club.
